We at Shield of Heritage are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to our site: [Enter your website URL here].

What Web Accessibility Is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This is achieved through specific design adjustments, system capabilities, and compatibility with assistive technologies.

Accessibility Adjustments on This Site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines and have worked to make the site accessible to the level of AA. Our contents are designed to work with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation. As part of this effort, we have:

  • Defined a clear and logical heading structure across all pages.

  • Set the official language of the site to ensure correct screen reader interpretation.

  • Added alternative text to images to describe visual content.

  • Implemented high-contrast color combinations to assist users with visual impairments.

  • Ensured all videos and audio files include accessible descriptions or transcripts where applicable.

  • Set a logical content order for seamless keyboard navigation.

Declaration of Partial Compliance (Third-Party Content)

While we strive for full accessibility, certain pages may rely on third-party content (such as embedded maps or social media feeds from TikTok or Instagram) that are not managed by Shield of Heritage. We cannot guarantee the full accessibility of these specific third-party elements.

Physical Accessibility Arrangements

At our founding site, the Ngao Museum, we are actively working through our Fortify pillar to improve physical access.

  • Status: We have currently installed resting benches and cleared paths within the compound to improve mobility.

  • Future Goals: As part of our museum restoration project, we aim to implement ramps and specialized signage for visitors with disabilities.

Requests, Issues, and Suggestions

If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have suggestions on how we can improve our digital "fortress" for all users, please reach out to our accessibility coordinator:

A Note for the High Command

To keep this document "military-grade" and accurate, remember to:

  1. Select the standard: I have suggested WCAG 2.1 AA, which is the global professional standard.

  2. Delete the instructional text: Once you paste this into your website's "Accessibility" page, remove all the bracketed instructions.
